Tree of Life - mixed media
Africa is alive with stories of renewal and inspiration despite the clash between centuries of culture, wildlife, and westernisation.
In this mixed media piece, I wanted to create an image representing the fine balance of nature and humans. The tree represents the Tree of Life also the natural world, the gazelle portrays the Animal Kingdom. I layered guinea fowl feathers to represent bird life and the vast expanse of sky above and consciousness.
The blood represents human destruction when the natural balance is upset. It is a reminder to be respectful of Mother Earth and all her creatures. We must work on living in harmony with nature if we want to avoid the extinction of certain species and an imbalance in nature causing huge ramifications.
