Mara Elephants
This black and white wildlife photography piece captures the majestic African bush elephant in the Maasai Mara game reserve, Kenya, East Africa. These giants of the earth play a crucial role in their environment. During dry months, they dig holes in riverbeds to access water, creating water sources for other animals. As they migrate, their trampling over vegetation tills the soil, spreading seeds and allowing undergrowth plants to catch sunlight, fostering biodiversity. Nature works in harmony with these magnificent creatures.
Today, elephants face significant threats, including poaching, human conflict, drought, and habitat loss. Through my fine art photography, I aim to highlight both their beauty and the urgent need for their conservation.
