Ghat Life, Varanasi
Ghats are a flight of steps leading to the banks of the River. Varanasi is a city on the banks of the holy river Ganges and has 87 ghats most built after 1700AD when the city was part of the Maratha Empire. The holiest ghats are used as cremation sites but people bathe and can see puja ceremony ghats. So intense is my love affair with India that I’ll always be drawn back into her enchanting embrace.
